It is the desire of the leadership of Crossroads to keep the church informed and encouraged by the upcoming plans and the future of the church. With the increasing attendance and excitement we see around the church, God is challenging us to look ahead and make decisions for the future.

Please understand the items listed below have been heavily covered in prayer. We encourage you to join us in prayer over these exciting steps as well as where God will take us in the future. We have explored in great detail each of these items, seeking God to lead us. We are privileged to lead such an exciting and passionate congregation. This is an update on the plans we have been making.

Tri-County Christian School Expansion
TCCS will be expanding to include 7th and 8th grades and they are in the process of moving dirt to accommodate for another building for classrooms and much needed additional storage.

Building Expansion
The expansion committees continue to meet and determine details for things like kitchen equipment, layout, lighting, etc. They are also checking out sources and methods of funding for the project.

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION!

When we began this year, we talked together about how, in the upcoming months, God was going to challenge us in BIG ways. We can see that happening in families all around our church; however, we can also see it happening in our church as well. God is challenging us to step outside of our comfort zone to reach real people with the love of Jesus.

If you have been to our 10:30 a.m. service lately, you probably noticed one thing...it is PACKED! It is filled with new faces, shoulder-to-shoulder seating, and even people in the balcony. While this is an awesome “problem” to have, we need to make a transition to make room for more people. The elders of the church have spent many hours asking God together what the best transition is for us to make. Beginning on Easter, April 8, we will be transitioning to three services. We will have an 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. service. We will have Sunday school running during the 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. service.

We know that this will require more servants. We know that it will require some of us to sacrifice. We know that it will cause a few of us to change our schedule and we know that it is different. However, we also know that God has called us to reach as many people as we can and in order for that to happen, we need to make more seating available on Sunday mornings. This transition will give us the privilege of encountering God’s Spirit another time on Sunday morning. This will open the door for more life change, more worship and more opportunities to hear God’s word. This is a big challenge, that, we believe as a church, we will rise to meet. Listed below is a schedule of the new services and what is happening during them.

As we step into this transition, please pray that God will work through us as the church to be as flexible as He wants us to be in order to reach more people. Please pray for your role as a servant. Please pray for a smooth transition, and most of all, pray that we will stand together in UNITY.

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

Men's Banquet

Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, MO, will hold their annual Men’s Day and Banquet on Thursday, March 8.  The theme this year is “Closer Than a Brother.”

Men’s Day will feature Bob Russell, retired minister of Southeast Christian Church, as the workshop leader and banquet speaker.  Mr. Russell continues to preach at churches and conferences throughout the United States, provide guidance for church leadership, mentor other ministers, and author Bible-study videos for use in small groups.  He has written over a dozen books, and also writes a weekly column in The Lookout.

The cost to attend the Men’s Banquet is $15 (tickets available in the lobby of Pelfrey Hall on the day of the event). This year’s menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, rolls and dessert.

An offering will be received at the banquet to go towards two new college trailers to be used for the athletic teams and other groups in their travels.

Meet at Crossroads to attend this event as a group. The Church van leaves at 5:30 PM. Banquet starts at 6:30 PM.
